Why Be Honest With Yourself?

You, speaking honestly to yourself, is the same as you praying to God.Most of the time we are reacting to ourselves rather than the external.

On a personal note, I have always sought to understand my true self and I honestly believe that has made me a calm and forgiving person. I know, that is a lot to vouch oneself for! However, I do know myself and have seen various relationships heal in my past.

I also know that it was, and at times still is, hard, painfully hard to face myself and know that my reactions come from little crevices within myself that need to be looked at. With Love.

As a practice, try looking into the mirror, at your face for one minute straight- really look into your eyes, at yourself.

In retrospect, I have a lot of friends who told me they could not go further than ten or twenty seconds! But, still, do try it. You have nothing to lose!

On the upside, you might gain a sacred closeness with yourself!

If you can be honest with yourself, you will be open to knowing what parts of you may need Love and acceptance. When you make peace with yourself, you make peace with all the people you are connected to. You may be at peace with the universe.
